An engineer by training, Rup has spent nearly a decade in the supply chain industry as a solutions architect, helping large companies move goods across countries. He learnt how things are made, moved and delivered — and how they go wrong. After years in the corporate world, he decided it was time to build something of his own.
Co-founder & COO — Operations and Distribution
An accountant by background, Samay left a secure government job to start this business. He understands numbers, distribution and the ground reality of running operations. He runs Anokhi Boond day to day from Dausa, Rajasthan.
Rup and Samay are defence kids. They grew up in army schools and army cantonments, in a simple family where discipline came before everything else.
Almost everyone in our family has served — in the army or in the police. The expected path was to continue that legacy.
Samay first had the idea at the gym, inspired by a fitness entrepreneur who had launched his own water brand. For years he kept telling Rup, ‘Bhai, let's start a distribution business.’ Rup laughed it off. It took him a while to see what Samay had seen all along.
While Samay built his experience in accounts and operations, Rup spent nearly a decade in the corporate world, learning how supply chains really work.
Both brothers stepped away from secure careers to start the first business our family has ever had. We named it after our mother — Anokhi.
Anokhi Boond launches this Diwali from Dausa, Rajasthan, starting with weddings and celebrations.
Our goal is to take Anokhi Boond across India, one bottle and one occasion at a time.
